About the role

Honey Veil is hiring a Team Member with a kitchen specialty to keep our kitchen running smoothly and get every order out on time, up to standard and safe to eat. No experience is required, because we'll train you, though kitchen experience is preferred. This role is for someone who does well in a fast-paced cafe, likes working as part of a team and is open to cross-training on the coffee bar.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and plate menu items so every order goes out on time and meets Honey Veil's quality and presentation standards
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage, labeling, temperature control and a clean, organized station
  • Take inventory at the end of each shift so we can place orders and have enough ingredients for the next day
  • Communicate with teammates to keep orders moving during busy rushes
  • Work alongside baristas and front-of-house staff, and be open to cross-training on barista work
  • Adapt quickly to changes in the menu, recipes, routines and daily priorities
  • Show up on time for every scheduled shift and take ownership of your station from open to close

What we're looking for:

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen and staying calm and organized under pressure
  • A team player who works well with others and supports coworkers when it gets busy
  • Eager to learn new skills and open to cross-training between the kitchen and the coffee bar
  • Flexible and adaptable when things are constantly changing
  • Reliable, punctual and responsible, with a strong sense of ownership
  • No experience required, because we'll train you. Kitchen or food service experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices or a Food Handler certification is a plus
