Bob's Place in Alanson, Michigan is on the lookout for an experienced server who genuinely enjoys working as a team and delivering excellent service to our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests with a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service throughout their experience.
  • Ensure customers meet the legal drinking age by checking IDs before serving alcohol.
  • Engage with customers to assess their preferences and recommend food and drink options, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Handle complaints or issues promptly, maintaining a pleasant and professional demeanor.
  • Work closely with other team members, including support staff, kitchen and fellow wait staff, to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive teamwork dynamic.
  • Take and process orders from guests using the Point-of-Sale system.
  • Create and suggest specials from the food and drink menus to boost sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the dining area, keeping counters and floors clean, and ensure tableware and condiments are stocked and ready for use.
  • Operate the POS (point-of-sale) system for processing payments quickly and accurately.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including completing inventory checks and cleaning tasks as required.
  • Adhere to safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe work environment for both staff and patrons.

Skills

  • Proven serving experience in both slower and fast-paced environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively.
  • Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of drink orders efficiently.
  • Excellent time management skills to maintain workflow during busy shifts.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and ability to carry trays of dishes.
  • Team player with a positive attitude who can work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with the POS system to take orders and manage transactions.
  • Strong understanding of age requirements and liquor laws for serving alcohol.
  • REQUIRED: ServSafe or Tips Alcohol Safety certificate or the ability to obtain one
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
