Position Overview

The Dishwasher at Cork & Craft plays a vital role in maintaining the efficiency, cleanliness, and organization of the kitchen. This position ensures that all dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen tools are cleaned and sanitized quickly and properly — supporting the team’s ability to deliver the high-quality dining experience Cork & Craft is known for.

Key Responsibilities

Dishwashing & Cleaning

  • Wash and sanitize all plates, glasses, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools according to health and safety standards.
  • Operate the dishwashing machine safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain clean and organized dish stations throughout service.
  • Assist with hand-washing delicate or specialty items as needed.
  • Ensure all dishes are properly dried, polished, and stored in designated locations.

Kitchen & Facility Maintenance

  • Keep dish area, prep areas, and floors clean and free of debris or hazards.
  • Empty trash bins and replace liners regularly.
  • Clean and maintain dish machine, sinks, and drains at the end of each shift.
  • Support with kitchen closing duties, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Assist cooks and prep staff with light food prep or restocking when needed.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work closely with cooks, servers, and management to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Communicate any equipment or supply issues promptly to management.
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude even during busy service times.
  • Be dependable, punctual, and respectful to all team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and attention to cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of sanitation and safety procedures (training provided).
  • Must have or be able to obtain a current food handler’s card.
