Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Execution
- Prepare and cook menu items to Cork & Craft’s recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of every dish.
- Execute dishes in a timely manner while maintaining composure during high-volume service periods.
- Follow prep lists accurately and ensure all mise en place is ready before service.
- Coordinate with team members to maintain steady ticket flow and efficient communication with servers.
Kitchen Organization & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
- Assist with daily setup, breakdown, and cleaning of kitchen stations.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Properly label, date, and store all food items in compliance with local health standards.
- Participate in end-of-shift deep cleaning and closing duties.
Teamwork & Communication
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Work collaboratively during service to ensure smooth execution and guest satisfaction.
- Support other cooks and staff during busy periods to maintain quality and flow.
- Notify management immediately of product shortages, equipment issues, or safety concerns.
Quality & Presentation
- Follow portion control and plating standards to ensure consistency.
- Uphold Cork & Craft’s emphasis on quality ingredients, creativity, and visual presentation.
- Taste food regularly for seasoning accuracy and quality assurance.
- Assist with menu testing, specials, and seasonal updates when needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of line cook or kitchen experience in a full-service restaurant.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of basic cooking techniques (grill, sauté, prep, plating).
- Familiarity with health department standards and food safety protocols.
- Ability to multitask efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude.
- Must have or be able to obtain a current food handler’s certification.
