Hoozels at The Lakes is a fun, locally loved bar & grill in the heart of Rome, WI. We’re known for our welcoming atmosphere, creative menu, and team-oriented kitchen. We’re looking for a dedicated Prep Cook to join our crew and help set the kitchen up for success each day.
Position Overview:
This is a prep-only role — ideal for someone who enjoys the early morning hours, works well independently, and takes pride in organization and consistency. No line cooking or customer service required — just solid prep work to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
Responsibilities:

  • Follow daily prep lists and portioning guides
  • Wash, chop, dice, slice, and store vegetables and other ingredients
  • Prep sauces, dressings, marinades, and house-made items
  • Label, date, and rotate food items to maintain freshness and safety
  • Maintain a clean and organized prep station and kitchen work area
  • Support BOH team with general prep duties — no line work required

Requirements:

  • Some kitchen or prep experience preferred (but not required for the right person)
  • Must be dependable, organized, and able to follow instructions closely
  • Comfortable working independently and efficiently during quieter hours
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Available 3–4 mornings per week (shifts typically start between 7–8 AM)

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 18 per week
