ABOUT TURBO SPORTS AND PERFORMANCE CENTRE CORP.
Southern Georgian Bay has world-class athletes, serious movers, and a community that has always punched above its weight. What it has never had is a facility built to match it.
Turbo Sports and Performance Centre Corp. is that facility. Opening November 2026 at 140 Mountain Road, Collingwood, Turbo brings together a FIFA-certified indoor field, performance training, studio programming, and community events under one roof — built for the people who live here year-round, not just the weekenders.
Our youth soccer programming spans ages 2 to 17 — development sessions, structured programming, camps, and seasonal training. Coaches at Turbo are not just filling a shift. They are part of what makes the experience worth showing up for.
THE ROLE
Turbo was built on a belief that sport and movement should feel different here. That starts with who is on the field. At Turbo, great coaching is not just about what happens during a session — it is about who you are when you show up. How you speak to a seven-year-old who is nervous. How you handle a kid who is struggling without making them feel it. Whether a participant leaves more confident than when they arrived. That is what we are building here.
As a Part-Time Sport Coach at Turbo, you will deliver youth soccer programming for participants ages 2 to 17, development sessions, structured programming, camps, and event-day activation. This is not a role for someone who needs to be the most impressive person in the room. It is a role for someone who makes the kids in front of them feel like they are. You will work closely with our Head of Strength and Programming and our CEO, and will collaborate with partner coaches across the field calendar.
We are deliberate about how we coach here. We lead with mentorship, emotional intelligence, and the belief that a child's experience of sport shapes far more than their game. We will develop you as much as you develop them — and we expect the same openness to growth that we ask of our participants.
Shifts vary week to week based on the programming calendar. We will build around your availability where we can, but the role requires reliability when you are on.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver youth soccer sessions for participants ages 2 to 17 across drop-in, structured programming, camps, and special events — with consistent energy, preparation, and quality.
• Plan and execute age- and skill-appropriate session content aligned with Turbo's programming framework and partner requirements.
• Manage participants on and off the field: group management, safety awareness, space setup and teardown, and post-session check-out.
• Adapt session delivery in real time based on group size, age range, skill level, and participant needs.
• Communicate clearly with participants, parents (where applicable), and the operations team before and after each session.
• Support game-day operations during league nights when required — including warm-up facilitation, referee fill-in where qualified, and participant engagement.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, with particular attention to safeguarding standards when working with youth.
• Complete session documentation as required: attendance, incidents, and participant feedback.
• Contribute ideas and observations to the ongoing development of soccer programming, formats, and participant experience.
• Represent Turbo Sports with professionalism at community events, open days, and partner activations.
HOW WE COACH
At Turbo, coaching is a mentorship practice. It requires emotional intelligence before tactical knowledge. It requires listening before instructing. It requires understanding that a child who feels seen will work harder, learn faster, and stay in sport longer than one who is simply told what to do.
This means:
• You meet participants where they are — not where you wish they were.
• You build confidence as deliberately as you build skill. One without the other does not hold.
• You check your ego at the door. Every session. The field is for them.
• You are a student of this too. We will invest in your growth — through mentorship, feedback, and shared learning — because we believe that the best coaches are always developing alongside the people they coach.
• You model what whole-human development looks like: physical, emotional, and social. Every session is an opportunity to do all three.
WHAT YOU BRING
• You are a good human first. The coaching comes second. We can teach systems and drills, we cannot teach character.
• You are a soccer person. Not just technically, you understand how the game feels to play, and that carries into how you coach it.
• Experience coaching or instructing soccer in a structured setting, youth development, recreational leagues, club programming, camps, or equivalent.
• Emotional intelligence. You read a room. You know when to push and when to ease off. You understand that a bad day at home follows a kid onto the field, and you respond to that with care, not frustration.
• Comfort working across the full youth age range, from toddler-aged introductory sessions through to teenage technical development. You shift your approach, your energy, and your communication style to meet the group in front of you.
• A genuine willingness to be mentored and developed. We invest in our coaches. We ask that you show up open to that investment — feedback, collaborative learning, and continuous growth are part of the role, not optional extras.
• A soccer or sport coaching certification is an asset (Ontario Soccer, NCCP, or equivalent) but we believe great coaches are built from more than a certificate. If you have real experience on the field, a genuine ability to connect with kids, and a willingness to grow, we want to hear from you.
• Current Standard First Aid + CPR-C certification required before first shift.
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) required before working with youth — or willingness to obtain one prior to start.
• Reliable and communicative. When you are on the schedule, you are there, prepared, on time, and ready. When something comes up, you tell us.
• Playing or officiating experience at any competitive level is a strong asset. Valid driver's license is an asset.
WHAT WE OFFER
• $25–$50/hour based on experience, demonstrated coaching ability, and the programming type you are delivering.
• Flexible, part-time scheduling built around your availability and the program calendar.
• Free facility membership, full access to the gym, studio classes, drop-in sports, and open gym.
• A professional, FIFA-certified indoor facility with the infrastructure to deliver quality programming — no workarounds, no compromises. we supply you with everything that you need.
• A team that takes coaching seriously and wants to grow the programming alongside the right people.
• Room to take on additional sessions, programming streams, or program lead responsibilities as the facility and calendar expand.
