Job Overview

Job Summary:
Responsible for the proper sanitation, cleanliness, and organization of the restaurant, restrooms, and common areas of access to the restaurant used by customers, like the hallway to the restrooms, the parking lot, and the elevator.
Responsibilities:

  1. Dishwasher: Wash all dishes, including plates, pans, pots, silverware, glasses, and kitchen and bar utensils, especially during peak hours.
  2. Dry the dishes: properly dry plates and utensils before storing.
  3. Kitchen Equipment: deep cleaning of ovens, hood filters, grease box, walk-in coolers, freezers, pasta machine, fryer, grill, stove, griddle, carts, speed carts, etc.
  4. Restaurant surfaces such as walls, floors, doors, windows, ceilings, stairs, etc.
  5. Delivery: Assist the kitchen crew in receiving and properly storing products in designated areas (e.g., dry storage, bar, coolers, kitchen, basement).
  6. Trash & Recycling: Dispose of trash bags when they are full, maintain cleanliness, break down cardboard after delivery, and place it in the recycling bin immediately.
  7. Report: Immediately notify the chef de cuisine of any dishwasher issues for prompt repair and uninterrupted service.
  8. Monitor: Ensure a sufficient supply of chemicals and janitorial supplies to maintain job performance and standards.
  9. Special Events: Prepare for and participate in special events, such as weddings, rooftop parties, and the Italian Festival, staying later and/or arriving earlier when requested.
  10. Trainer: Train and supervise other dishwashers, as needed.
