Job Overview

EVENTS & OPERATIONS MANAGER

Full-Time | Base + Commission

About Bar Nuestro
Bar Nuestro is a neighborhood bistro rooted in the rhythms of old-world Europe and the sazón of Latin America — a place where the aperitivo hour lingers, the dining room hums, and every gathering feels like it was meant to happen here. Opening at Navy Yard in summer 2026, we are building a team that leads with warmth, operates with precision, and believes that hospitality is something you feel.

The Role
We are looking for a driven, relationship-first Events Manager to own the private events business at Bar Nuestro from the ground up. You will build the pipeline, close the bookings, and deliver unforgettable experiences — while also serving as our primary liaison to Urby's residential and corporate community. This role sits at the intersection of sales, hospitality, and operations, and is designed for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment with the autonomy to build something real.

Key Responsibilities

Private Events & Sales

  • Respond to all private event inquiries promptly and convert leads into confirmed bookings through consultative selling
  • Develop and maintain event menus, packages, and pricing in collaboration with the culinary and beverage teams
  • Prepare and execute event proposals, contracts, and BEOs with accuracy and a keen eye for detail
  • Own the client relationship from first inquiry through post-event follow-up, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience
  • Build and manage a CRM pipeline; track leads, bookings, revenue, and conversion metrics
  • Prospect proactively — corporate clients, social celebrations, nonprofit events, cultural gatherings — growing the event calendar month over month

Urby Building Partnership

  • Serve as Bar Nuestro's dedicated point of contact with the Urby residential and property management team
  • Develop and execute programming that activates Bar Nuestro within the Urby community resident happy hours, curated dinners, pop-up activations, and signature seasonal events
  • Identify co-marketing and partnership opportunities that drive mutual foot traffic and brand affinity
  • Maintain a consistent communication cadence with Urby's team to stay ahead of building-wide events and opportunities
  • Foster relationships with Urby residents to convert them into regular guests and repeat event clients

Day-to-Day Operations Support

  • Assist the GM and management team with daily service operations as needed, acting as a floor leader during peak periods
  • Support team communication, guest experience standards, and service recovery when issues arise
  • Maintain event collateral, menus, and operational materials in current and guest-ready condition
  • Contribute to weekly leadership check-ins and help track operational goals across the venue

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in events sales, catering coordination, or hospitality management restaurant or hotel venue experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals in a hospitality or events context
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you can pitch warmly, follow up persistently, and close confidently
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple events and timelines simultaneously without dropping a detail
  • A natural relationship-builder who is equally comfortable with a first-time inquiry and a long-standing client
  • Familiarity with event management software, CRM tools, and BEO systems
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus — not required
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and select holidays as event schedules demand
  • A genuine love of food, hospitality, and creating experiences that people remember

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
  • Commission on private events revenue — earn more as you build the business
  • Health Insurance (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Paid Time Off
  • Dining privileges across Bar Nuestro and the 5C Hospitality portfolio
  • Continued Career Development & Opportunities for Growth
  • A front-row seat to opening one of DC's most anticipated new restaurants
