Concordia Village is a housing project specially designed for older adults seeking independent living with some support services. It is located at 1125, 1115 and 1105 Molson Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is owned and operated by Concordia Wellness Projects Inc. which is a non-profit registered charitable organization affiliated with Concordia Hospital. The mission of Concordia Village is to enhance the quality of life for older adults by providing a secure, comfortable, homelike environment. Residents are encouraged to live as independently as possible with support services provided by the building and through Home Care.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition Services located at CV5. The Assistant Director will assist in overseeing daily operations of food services, including menu planning, inventory management, and adherence to food safety standards. The role involves supervising the food service staff, ensuring quality assurance, and managing budgets. The Assistant Director will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and support the organization’s nutritional and dietary objectives. This role includes reconciling payroll, scheduling and being able to lead both back of house and front of house operations.
Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Food Service and Food Science to ensure compliance with nutritional and service standards
  • Experience in Food Safety and Quality Assurance, with a focus on compliance with applicable regulations and best practices
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management to optimize resource allocation
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Previous experience in food and nutrition services, preferably in a healthcare or similar environment
  • Post-secondary education in Food Service Management, Nutrition, or a related field is an asset
  • Proficiency in using standard software for reporting and management tasks
