Job Description: Line Cook (Thai and Sushi Restaurant)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our team at our Thai and Sushi restaurant. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Thai and sushi dishes with precision and creativity. Responsibilities:

  3. Follow proper food handling and safety procedures, including temperature controls and sanitation guidelines, to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
  4. Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate cooking times and prioritize orders to meet service standards.
  5. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sushi rice.
  6. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and inform the kitchen manager when items need to be replenished.
  7. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations to uphold hygiene and safety standards.
  8. Properly store and label food items to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  9. Adhere to portion control guidelines to control food costs while maintaining consistent dish quality.
  10. Work with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of dishes to guests.
  11. Stay updated on the restaurant's menu and new dish offerings to provide detailed information and answer guest inquiries.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar culinary role, with expertise in Thai and/or sushi cuisine preferred.
  2. In-depth knowledge of Thai and sushi cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  4. Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food storage and handling practices.
  5. Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple orders simultaneously.
  6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the restaurant's operating hours.
  7. Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from the kitchen manager or head chef.
  8. Culinary certification or formal training in a culinary institute is an advantage but not required.
