Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Grill Cook to help oversee the daily operations of Local Roots Birmingham. As the grill cook/ team leader, you will be responsible for overseeing food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, monitoring inventory levels, ensuring line cook team members are performing tasks appropriately and assisting Kitchen Manager as needed.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have proven culinary and management experience. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and organizational abilities.
Responsibilities

  • Manage Grill Station and ensure food is prepared and expediated within standards
  • Assist in supervision of kitchen employees
  • Oversee the food preparation and cooking process
  • Recruit and train kitchen employees in designated stations
  • Monitor inventory levels and help perform weekly inventory assessments
  • Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized at all times.

Skills

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques
  • Servsafe Certified Preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work well in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict management abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive Attitude and ability to lead others
