Responsibilities
- Preparing cold dishes: This includes tasks like preparing salads, charcuterie boards, sandwiches, and other cold appetizers or side dishes.
- Plating and garnishing: Ensuring dishes are presented attractively and garnished properly.
- Washing, chopping, shredding, and grating ingredients: Preparing ingredients for various dishes.
- Assisting with hot food preparation: Depending on the kitchen's needs, pantry staff may also help with hot food preparation.
- Following recipes and instructions: Ensuring dishes are prepared according to established recipes and standards.
- Line cooks prepare fresh made food in accordance to established food safety guidelines, recipes, standards, and procedures.
- Must have a commitment to food safety, cleanliness, proper food handling, and sanitation standards.
- Follow established opening, closing and cleaning schedules.
- Maintain a clean and food-safe environment.
- Prepare, portion, and/or cook food items to quality specifications
- Assess stock levels of ingredients, items for freshness and quality, rotating product according to food safety standards.
- Prepare orders of food and drinks.
- Ensure that the kitchen is clean, including keeping the walk-in refrigerator clean, stocked, and organized.
