Job: Cook at The Galley Grill/Martha's Vineyard
Compensation: $14 per hour + tips. Tips range on how busy it is, could be $25 or $100 some nights. As hours expand, we expect this to increase.
We are seeking energetic, detail-focused, and self-starting cooks to join our Galley Grill food truck team. As a cook, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent food and ensuring customer satisfaction. If you have a passion for the food industry and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

We have several cooks currently, and you would be in rotation with them. We currently have shifts Thursdays from 6pm-1am or Fridays and Saturdays 4pm-1am. We hope to soon expand our hours which would open more shifts. You must have availably on some if not all of those days.

Depending on performance, there may be the ability to cross train for other jobs at Martha's Vineyard, the largest dance club in downtown Springfield.
Reliable transportation is required and your work location would be downtown Springfield, MO.

Responsibilities

  • Food preparation and cooking
  • Provide friendly and efficient service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the food truck
  • Handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures
  • Manage inventory during the shift and restock supplies as needed
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the food truck
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations

Skills Needed

  • Previous experience in the food industry is preferred
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to handle fast-paced and high-pressure situations with a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Self-starter, be able to discover and find solutions to problems as they arise

Please note this position involves working in a food truck, so you should be comfortable with physical activity and depending on the weather, hotter conditions. There is air conditioning but it can still get warm.
