Expo (Expediter) – St. Patrick’s Steakhouse

Position Overview:
At St. Patrick’s Steakhouse, the Expo (Expediter) is critical to the flow between the kitchen and the dining room. The Expo ensures that every plate leaving the kitchen is correct, timely, and beautifully presented. This role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the pass (window) and coordinate all outgoing food orders.
  • Ensure every dish matches the ticket specifications (temperature, modifications, sides).
  • Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and servers to guarantee order accuracy.
  • Prioritize and time orders so that tables receive complete meals together.
  • Garnish plates as needed and ensure proper presentation standards are met.
  • Alert servers or runners immediately when orders are ready for pickup.
  • Check and double-check all modifiers, allergy notes, and special requests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized expo station at all times.
  • Work closely with management to maintain ticket times and service standards.
  • Communicate any kitchen delays to servers or managers immediately.
  • Assist in occasional light running of food if necessary during peak times.

Requirements:

  • Prior restaurant experience preferred; expo experience a plus.
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to stay calm, organized, and focused under pressure.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and presentation.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and move quickly in a busy environment.
  • Familiarity with Toast POS system is a plus (not required, training available).
  • Positive attitude and teamwork-first mindset.
  • Must maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times.
