Job Description – Party Host Job Title: Party Host Reports To: Party Specialist, Event Coordinator, Assistant Manager, Administrator, General Manager, Owners Pay Rate Includes: $Base + tips (Base will range from $4-$6/hr); tips will vary but will range from $10-$20+ per party; employer will pay supplemental amount if party does not tip Objective: To provide friendly and responsive service to create an exceptional entertainment experience for our party guests. A Birthday Party Host’s attitude greatly affects how Hyper Kidz as a whole is perceived. Party Hosts will oversee the function of the assigned birthday parties or group events. There are 6 main functions: servicing birthday parties and group events, navigating guests, upselling merchandise items and party add-ons, and adhering to a strict timing schedule. Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet reserved birthday party family and Guest of Honor enthusiastically and facilitate their entry into the facility
  • Welcome and check-in birthday party guests in a positive and professional manner to create an enjoyable play experience and to encourage repeat visits
  • Assist guests with waiver completion as needed
  • Escort party guests onto the main floor for open play
  • Make announcements over speakers to organize and lead party groups to the next phase of their party
  • Escort party guests into and out of party rooms at the appropriate time
  • Initiate announcement of Guest of Honor's name and happy birthday wish over the loud speakers
  • Set up, clean up, and maintain Party rooms
  • Ensure there is adequate space/seating for all party guests.
  • Ensure each party receives everything included in package
  • Provide an exceptional birthday experience to birthday guest of honor and all parents and guests
  • Adhere to strict party timing schedule
  • Confirm final birthday party guest count
  • Facilitate birthday party family check-out and final payment at the Front desk
  • Restock any and all party supplies and party add-ons as needed
  • Promote additional sales of party add-ons and merchandise
  • Ensure that all trash and debris are cleared from party rooms
  • Ensure that all chairs, tables and tablecloths are evenly aligned and tidy
  • Ensure all party gifts and belongings have left with the party guest of honor, otherwise, contact party parents when time allows
  • Complete opening and closing duties
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manger.
  • Make appropriate arrangements for a substitute if unable to work
  • Attend all training sessions and required meetings
  • Perform all operational activities related to birthday party hosting as detailed in the Hyper Kidz Operations Manual
  • Suggest changes in policies to management as required
  • Perform all checklist requirements and preserve the cleanliness of the party rooms at all times, in accordance with the Hyper Kidz guest service policy
  • Must be able to work nights (until 9pm or 10pm) and weekends

Any other appropriate job tasks or duties as required by the Event Coordinator Required Work Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Some High School, High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a waitress or party host is preferred but not necessary
  • Excellent speaking and communication skills, loud voice, helpful and courteous, good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, a good communicator, have a good work ethic, and be able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Able to reach, bend, lift, stoop, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hrs)
  • The job requires tremendous self-control- maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, managing stress and frustration, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very challenging situations with children and parents
