Job Overview

A Host or Hostess is responsible for welcoming guests and managing the flow of customers within a restaurant or other hospitality setting. They manage reservations, seat guests, and provide a positive first impression to set the tone for the dining experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Guest Greeting: Warmly greet guests as they arrive, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
• Reservation Management: Take and confirm reservations, manage waiting lists, and provide accurate wait times.
• Seating and Escorting: Seat guests efficiently, accommodating special requests, and escort them to their tables.
• Communication: Answer phone calls, provide menu information, and answer guest questions.
• Table Management: Monitor table turnover, coordinate with wait staff, and assist with clearing tables.
• Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized host stand and lobby area.
• Customer Service: Address guest concerns and ensure a positive dining experience.
• Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
