Job Summary:

The Hostess is the first point of contact for members and guests dining at Heritage Bay. This position is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating flow in accordance with club standards and member expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Guest Relations & Service Excellence

  • Greet all members and guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
  • Provide a friendly and professional first impression of the dining experience.
  • Escort members and guests to their tables and present menus.
  • Maintain an updated knowledge of menus, specials, and events to assist members effectively.
  • Ensure all member preferences, seating requests, and special needs are accommodated when possible.
  • Communicate any member feedback or concerns to management immediately.

Reservations & Seating Management

  • Manage reservations via phone, email, or club reservation system.
  • Coordinate table assignments to optimize service flow and minimize wait times.
  • Maintain accurate guest count and update seating charts throughout service.
  • Assist in managing the waitlist during peak periods and provide accurate wait time estimates.

Team Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with servers, Maitre D’, and kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Support service staff by resetting tables, replenishing menus, and assisting with light service tasks when needed.
  • Work closely with management to support special events, private dining, and large group functions.

Appearance & Professionalism

  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance in accordance with club dress code.
  • Uphold Heritage Bay standards for hospitality, courtesy, and member satisfaction.
  • Arrive on time and prepared for each shift.

Safety & Cleanliness

  • Maintain cleanliness of entrance, podium, and surrounding dining areas.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies as required by the club and local regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a fine dining or private club setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
