MAIN JOB DUTIES:
People and environment
· In coordination with the General Manager, monitors overall condition of the restaurant, includes indoor and outdoor spaces, public areas and back of house areas, and directs team to clean, organize and maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment.
· Engages with team members and offers continuous development, coaching, and counseling to ensure proper steps of service are executed consistently.
· Assist with staffing/scheduling, participating in interviews, making hiring recommendations, onboarding new hires, and providing ongoing coaching and training for team members utilizing FOH training planner and knowledge checklists.
Customer focus
· Projects positive business image and welcomes and engages all guests, performs table-touches, and follow-ups throughout service.
· Handles customer issues in a polite, personable, and professional manner that builds loyalty in the brand; shares guest feedback with staff and leadership teams to improve services and product offerings.
· Manages reservation system and understands how to effectively manage wait times, table turns, and rushes.
Financial focus
· Assists Manager to control operating costs and tracking labor and identifies and implements ways to increase revenues and reduce spend and waste.
Experience:
· 3+ years’ leadership/supervisory experience in high-volume, fast-paced restaurant.
· College degree in Hospitality or Restaurant Management valued.
· TABC and Food Handlers certificates and/or Serve Safe Management certificate required.
· Experience with POS systems required; preferably Toast POS.
· Previous experience with inventory management, ordering, vendor relations.
· Previous bar management experience valued.
· Strong communication skills by phone, written, and conversational, and ability to manage phone operating systems and messaging.
· Strong computer and data entry skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Strong analytical skills with ability to perform general math, calculating percentages and figures.
