Job Overview

The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a positive first impression. This position is responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and waitlists, and ensuring a smooth seating flow to maximize guest satisfaction and table turnover.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests promptly, warmly, and courteously upon arrival.
  • Manage reservations, call-ahead seating, and waitlists using the restaurant’s system.
  • Assign tables to servers in a balanced and efficient manner.
  • Escort guests to their tables, provide menus, rolled silverware.
  • Communicate wait times accurately and keep guests informed.
  • Monitor the dining room for open tables and keep seating charts updated.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized entrance, lobby, and host stand.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and provide basic information about the restaurant.
  • Support other front-of-house staff as needed, including bussing tables during peak times.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Friendly, professional demeanor with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and courteous.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the dining area.
  • Previous host/hostess or customer service experience preferred but not required.
