Responsibilities:

  • Control the flow of the restaurant: balance server sections, manage wait times, and optimize table turns
  • Manage OpenTable: reservations, waitlist, guest notes, and VIP tags
  • Confirm reservations before arrival; follow up with guests post-visit to ensure satisfaction
  • Recognize and acknowledge regular guests and VIPs by name
  • Coordinate private dining and karaoke room bookings
  • Answer phones professionally and handle guest inquiries
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of host stand, menus, and entry area
  • Communicate with servers and managers to ensure smooth service flow

Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in front-of-house operations in high-volume or upscale dining
  • OpenTable proficiency required
  • Comfortable making outbound calls — including handling difficult conversations with guests who had negative experiences
  • Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Professional appearance, mature demeanor, and reliable attendance
