Job Overview
Responsibilities
- • Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Indian dishes in the tandoor oven, including tandoori chicken, naan bread, kebabs, and other tandoor specialties.
- • Ensure all dishes are prepared and cooked to the highest quality standards, maintaining consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
- • Manage and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring it is clean, functional, and properly heated at all times.
- • Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of food orders.
- • Monitor and control food stock levels, ensuring ingredients are properly stored and utilized efficiently.
- • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and refine tandoor menu items, incorporating new flavors and ideas.
- • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in tandoor cooking techniques and best practices.
- • Adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards, following proper food handling and storage procedures.
Skills
- • Proven experience as a Chef in an Indian restaurant.
- • Extensive knowledge of Indian cuisine, particularly tandoor cooking techniques and flavor profiles.
- • Proficiency in operating and maintaining the tandoor oven, including temperature control and proper cleaning.
- • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
