Location: Canadian Golf and Country Club, Ashton, Ontario
Department: Grounds
Reports to: Golf Course Superintendent

Do you have a passion for golf and are looking for a seasonal opportunity to develop your turf management skills while engaging with customers daily? We are looking for hard working individuals to join our team for the 2025 golf season (~April to November). The hired candidates will play a key role in maintaining the overall condition, appearance and playability of the golf course. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the turf management field and a great steppingstone for those looking to get into the golf industry.

Work Schedule:
Full-time seasonal positions available. This position is outdoors and requires early morning availability. Evening and weekend availability may be required. Hours for the season vary based on time of year and are set based on sunrise and sunset.
Hired candidates will receive complimentary range balls, discounts on proshop merchandise, and food items. Discounted golf and cart rates for employees and their guests are also included as a benefit of the job. Some booking restrictions apply.
Grounds Maintenance Worker Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and cut grass on tee-boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes, and greens
  • Maintain bunkers
  • Assist with sodding and trimming
  • Use equipment such as walking and riding greens mowers, tee mowers, fairway mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, carts, push mowers and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools
  • Observe all safety practices and protocols and adhere to all policies set forth by Canadian Golf & Country Club
  • Other tasks related to the maintenance of the course and club house buildings as required

Grounds Maintenance Worker Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Prior golf course maintenance is an asset
  • Dependability
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Ability to multitask
  • Motivated and willing to take initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to complete tasks without constant supervision
  • Basic understanding of golf equipment. Willingness to learn about products and golf-related terminology
  • Ability to work for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed

Requirements:

  • Applicants must have reliable transportation as public transportation is not available in the area.
  • Able to work weekends and early morning shifts
