Job purpose
The Summit Restaurant Group Host is responsible to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them. The guest receive their first impression of the service of the restaurant by their exchange with the hostess. At all times, Host are expected to be attentive to our guest needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. The right person will be passionate about food and enjoy creating excellent experiences for customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests expectations.
• Takes names on waiting list.
• Runs the floor plan board.
• Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
• Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available.
• Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area.
• Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
• Interacts with guests as they arrive and as then leave the restaurant to ensue positive dining experience.
• Fills to-go orders, if applicable.
• Maintains restroom throughout shift.
• Sweeps foyer and front entrance area frequently.
• Performs other duties as directed.
Qualifications
• Previous Host experience required
• Excellent oral communication skills required
• Positive interpersonal skills required
• Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
• Good telephone speaking and listening ability
