About Us

Kekuli Café is Canada's first Indigenous café franchise, proudly serving bannock, great coffee and real

hospitality for over 20 years. We've been named one of the Canadian Franchise Association's Top 100

Franchises in Canada in 2024 and 2025. We're a close team that takes pride in our food, our culture and

our community — and we're looking for a hands-on leader to run one of our stores.

About the Role

Our Store Leader runs the day-to-day of the café and leads from the front line. This is not a desk job:

you'll be on the floor cooking, baking and pulling shots right alongside your team, while keeping the

store stocked, staffed and running smoothly.

What You'll Do

Lead the store

•Hire, onboard and train new team members

•Build and manage weekly staff schedules

•Coach and motivate the team to deliver friendly, fast service

•Uphold Kekuli Café standards for food quality, cleanliness and food safety

Manage operations

•Track inventory, place orders and receive deliveries

•Control waste and keep food and labour costs on target

•Handle daily opening and closing procedures

Work every station

•Cook: prepare our menu items, including bannock favourites, to recipe and standard

•Baker: make bannock and baked goods from scratch

•Barista: prepare espresso drinks and specialty beverages

What We're Looking For

•Previous supervisory or management experience in a café, restaurant or food service setting

•Ability to confidently work all three positions: cook, baker and barista (this is a must)

•Experience with inventory, ordering and staff scheduling

•Strong leadership and communication skills; you lead by example

•Organized, dependable and calm under pressure

•FOODSAFE Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain)

•Availability to work weekends, and special events when needed

Nice to have: FOODSAFE Level 2, hiring experience, and familiarity with or respect for Indigenous culture

and community.

What We Offer

•$23–$25/hour depending on experience

•Full training in Kekuli Café systems and recipes

•Staff meals and discounts

•A supportive team and room to grow with a growing Canadian franchise

•The chance to be part of a proud Indigenous business

How to Apply
