Sales Associate at The Black Rose European Bakery Position Overview: We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Cashier at The Black Rose European Bakery. As a key member of our front-of-house staff, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring a positive experience for every customer. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service Excellence: Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting bakery items. Provide knowledgeable answers to questions about our products, ingredients, and pricing. Handle customer complaints with professionalism and escalate issues to management when necessary. Cash Handling and Sales: Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately and efficiently. Process payments using POS systems and ensure all payments are recorded correctly. Maintain a balanced cash drawer at all times and adhere to opening/closing register procedures. Track and manage tips received from customers. Product Knowledge and Upselling: Educate customers on bakery products, including specials and promotions. Recommend additional items to complement customer purchases. Monitor and replenish merchandise on the sales floor as needed. Cleaning and Organization: Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the bakery, including dining areas and restrooms. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure a seamless customer experience. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly. Qualifications: Previous experience in customer service or retail preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations calmly. Basic math skills and proficiency with cash handling. Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods. Lift and carry bakery products and supplies as needed. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
