Position Overview

Servers at Cork & Craft are at the heart of the guest experience, providing exceptional table service that reflects the warmth, quality, and sophistication of the Cork & Craft brand. This role combines expert menu knowledge, attentive service, and efficient use of the POS system to ensure every guest feels valued and every order is executed flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

  • Greet guests warmly and establish a welcoming, professional rapport.
  • Present menus, describe specials, and offer recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Ensure that every table receives timely, attentive, and personalized service.
  • Anticipate guest needs throughout their visit — from first pour to final check.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.

Order Management & POS Operation

  • Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system in real time.
  • Verify modifiers, seat numbers, and special requests to ensure kitchen and bar accuracy.
  • Monitor order timing and communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar to ensure prompt service.
  • Process payments efficiently, including split checks, discounts, and gift cards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of POS features for table transfers, comps, and service notes.

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain detailed understanding of menu items, daily specials, and seasonal offerings.
  • Be familiar with the wine list, beer selections, and cocktail program to provide pairing suggestions.
  • Stay informed about upcoming live music and special events to promote the Cork & Craft experience.

Team Collaboration

  • Communicate table status and guest feedback to management and hosts.
  • Assist fellow servers and bussers during high-volume periods.
  • Maintain a polished, team-focused atmosphere and positive energy on the floor.

Cleanliness & Presentation

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned sections and service stations.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure tables are properly reset and prepared for new guests promptly.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of serving experience in a full-service or upscale casual restaurant.
  • Strong familiarity with POS systems (Toast, Aloha, Square, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
  • Friendly, professional, and guest-focused demeanor.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (21+ preferred).
  • Current food handler’s card and, where applicable, liquor service certification.
