Job Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A driver to join our team of professionals responsible for transporting manufactured precast concrete and associated products. Typical schedule includes weekdays with local deliveries to jobsites and/or customer specified location(s). Fleet configuration includes flatbed tractor-trailer combination and crane truck-trailer combination. Drivers are home nights and weekends.
Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operating fleet vehicles to transport precast concrete and associated products to and from production sites, job sites, and customer locations as directed by the Shipping Coordinator.
  • Properly complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections while assuring all preventative and corrective maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all aspects of local, state, and federal transportation regulations for commercial vehicles.
  • Complete delivery tickets by acquiring appropriate signatures and turn in daily.
  • Maintain good customer relations through professional and courteous interaction, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Effectively communicate with team members and customers.
  • Visually inspect and protect the quality of hauled goods throughout all phases of delivery, verifying products meet quality standards before leaving the plant.
  • Secure and verify security of products prior to transport.
  • Serve as a positive, productive member of the precast team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
(Desired but not required)

  • Basic computer skills and ability to use a tablet
  • Knowledge of precast products and loading configurations
  • Knowledge of crane operations
  • Two years experience as a commercial driver, prefer flatbed operations
  • Knowledge of methods, practices, tools, material and equipment used in precast

(Required)

  • Must be at least 21 years of age (insurance requirement) with clean MVR
  • Possess a valid Class A CDL license, air-brake endorsement, with a current medical card and ability to pass a DOT alcohol and drug screening
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Effective communicator and problem solver
  • Organized planner focused on time management and attention to details
  • Team player

(Education)

  • High School Diploma or GED required

(Physical Demands and Essential Functions)

  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds several times daily
  • Must be able to stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend, reach, grasp, lift, load, push, pull, climb up, and climb down throughout the day
  • Visual acuity and ability to read small print
  • Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Safety precautions required on yard and jobsites to include hardhat, reflective vest, eye protection, steel toe boots, and gloves
