We are seeking an experienced and structured IT Infrastructure Project Manager to plan, execute, and deliver enterprise technology and infrastructure projects on time, within scope, and within budget. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex technical deployments—including data center migrations, network hardware upgrades, cloud transformations, system integrations, and security infrastructure enhancements. You will work closely with system engineers, network architects, vendor teams, and executive stakeholders to ensure technical projects align with business objectives, operational requirements, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, scheduling, execution, and delivery of IT infrastructure, networking, server, and cloud deployment projects.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, resource requirements, and work breakdown structures (WBS) in collaboration with technical leads.
  • Manage multi-million dollar IT project budgets, tracking expenditure, hardware procurement, vendor invoicing, and variance reporting.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Act as the primary point of contact for project status, risks, dependencies, and resource constraints across IT engineering, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Establish project governance frameworks, clear change management procedures, and post-implementation reviews (PIRs).
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, hardware suppliers, managed service providers (MSPs), and telecom carriers to ensure strict contract and SLA compliance.

Risk Mitigation & Technical Alignment

  • Identify potential technical risks, system dependencies, and deployment bottlenecks early; develop robust risk mitigation strategies to prevent project delays.
  • Coordinate system maintenance windows, rollbacks, and downtime procedures with business units to minimize impact on operational workflows.
  • Ensure all infrastructure projects comply with internal security baselines, data compliance standards, and disaster recovery requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical & Project Management Expertise

  • Project Frameworks: Deep experience with Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid project management methodologies applied within IT infrastructure environments.
  • Infrastructure Knowledge: Functional understanding of core IT infrastructure concepts: enterprise networking (LAN/WAN/VPN/SD-WAN), cloud environments (AWS, Azure), virtualization (VMware), server storage (SAN/NAS), and cybersecurity hardware.
  • PM Tools & Analytics: Proficiency with modern project management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, MS Project, Asana, Smartsheet).
  • Vendor & Procurement Management: Hands-on experience negotiating vendor Statements of Work (SOWs), equipment lead times, and SLA commitments.

Soft Skills & Operational Leadership

  • Outstanding leadership, organization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of distilling technical complexities into clear executive summaries.
  • Calm, decisive crisis management and problem-solving abilities during critical deployment windows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of dedicated project management experience leading complex IT infrastructure or hardware deployment initiatives.
  • Certifications: Professional project management certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM is highly preferred; ITIL Foundation or Agile/Scrum (CSM) is a plus.
