Job Overview

Host and bus persons are responsible for greeting and seating guests and clearing tables. This includes collaborating with restaurant staff to ensure that guests are seated promptly, and the restaurant runs smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests (with a smile and kind demeanor) as they arrive and escort them to their table.
• Manage reservations, including confirming reservations, maintaining a waiting list, and accommodating special requests.
• Assist servers with clearing tables and resetting them for the next guest.
• Collaborate with restaurant staff, including servers and kitchen staff, to ensure that guests are seated promptly, and the restaurant runs smoothly.
• Provide guests with menus and answer any questions they may have about the menu.
• Assist with seating arrangements for large parties and events.
• Maintain a clean and organized dining room, including sweeping and mopping floors and wiping down tables and chairs.
• Clean restrooms, refresh toiletries, sweep and mop restrooms and clean outside areas.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager and supervisors.

• Ability to maintain a good attitude, smile, and communicate with guest.
• Ability to manage reservations and assist with clearing tables.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as trays of food and beverages.
