We’re looking for experienced bakers or eager-to-learn food professionals to join our busy team. At Atticus Bakery we are making bread and pastry utilizing regionally sourced grains.
We started our small bakery 5 years ago with this focus after experiencing the taste and nutrition benefits of fresh milled varietal grains. We’re on a mission to provide New Haven with the best possible bread and pastry while experimenting with all the grains the east coast has to offer. Weekends are a must, and work in the bakery starts at 3-4 am. Full-time positions available. FT Benefits include Health, Dental, 401k. We tip pool across all hourly positions at Atticus and it goes straight into your paycheck.
Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, bake, and finish products
  • Pull and prepare products for next day
  • Prep ingredients for products, including tasks like processing fruit, weighing items, preparing butter blocks, etc.
  • Mix and prep goods like bread, cookies, and scones
  • Learn about flour, butter, and more advanced processes
  • Other tasks assigned by the pastry chef or senior pastry bakers

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Capable of standing for prolonged periods
  • Able to start at 3-4:00 am.
  • Weekend availability
