Server — The Mill Tavern (Manotick)

Part-time | Evenings & weekends | Experience preferred
The Mill Tavern is a neighbourhood pub in the heart of Manotick. We're busy, we're local, and most of the people who walk through the door are regulars we know by name. We're looking for a part-time server who can keep up on a Friday night and still have time for a conversation at table six.

What the job actually looks like

You'll run your own section — greeting tables, taking food and drink orders, firing them accurately, running plates, checking back, and closing out tabs. Between tables you're restocking, polishing, resetting, and helping whoever is in the weeds. Some shifts are live music nights or private functions upstairs, which run faster and busier than a regular service.
You'll also be responsible for serving alcohol legally and responsibly: checking ID, monitoring intoxication, and flagging concerns to the manager on duty before they become problems. That part isn't optional.

What we're looking for

• Smart Serve certification (required before your first shift — we'll point you to it if you don't have it yet)
• At least 18 years of age
• Previous serving experience in a restaurant or pub — you should be comfortable carrying three plates and a conversation at the same time
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Working knowledge of a POS system, or the ability to pick one up quickly
• Someone who reads a room, moves with purpose, and doesn't need to be asked twice

Full menu and beverage knowledge is on us to teach. Showing up on time and caring about the guest is on you.
