Security Department Manager

Position Summary
The Security Department Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, training, scheduling, and operational effectiveness of the resort’s Security Department. This role ensures the safety of guests, associates, and property while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, and regulatory compliance in alignment with IHG brand standards.
The ideal candidate leads with presence, develops a high-performing team, and balances strong security operations with exceptional guest service.

Leadership & Team Development
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and train all Security Department personnel
• Establish ongoing training programs focused on safety, emergency response, guest service, and professionalism
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate team performance
• Promote a culture of respect, vigilance, and service excellence

Scheduling & Labor Management
• Create and manage weekly security schedules to ensure 24/7 coverage
• Adjust staffing for occupancy, events, and seasonal needs
• Control labor costs while maintaining appropriate security presence
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies

Security Operations
• Oversee patrols of hotel, beachfront, parking areas, and public spaces
• Manage emergency response and coordination with local authorities
• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments
• Enforce resort safety and access policies

Key Control & Access Management
• Maintain control of master keys and electronic access systems
• Track issuance, returns, and audits
• Protect restricted areas and sensitive assets

Reporting & Record Keeping
• Complete incident reports and daily security logs
• Maintain organized compliance records
• Analyze trends and recommend improvements
• Communicate findings to hotel leadership

Guest Service & Professionalism
• Maintain a visible and approachable presence
• Handle guest concerns professionally
• Represent the brand with courtesy and discretion
• Balance enforcement with hospitality

Qualifications
• 3–5 years security leadership experience (hospitality preferred)
• Knowledge of emergency response and safety procedures
• Experience in training and scheduling teams
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Guest-service focused mindset
