At Toro Kitchen & Bar, a modern Spanish restaurant, our barback is the silent force that keeps the bar running smoothly. You’ll support the bartending team with efficiency and attention to detail, making sure everything from glassware to ingredients is prepped and ready. Your role is key in keeping the energy up, the space clean, and the service seamless so our guests can enjoy a truly elevated Spanish dining and drinking experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain bar stock: refill liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, and glassware.
  • Support bartenders with setup and breakdown during opening and closing shifts.
  • Keep bar stations clean, organized, and fully supplied at all times.
  • Remove trash, bus bar areas, and manage dish bins discreetly and efficiently.
  • Help polish glassware, prep garnishes, and assist with bar tools and equipment.
  • Restock backup bottles, napkins, straws, and all bar materials throughout service.
  • Assist with deliveries, inventory organization, and stock rotation.
  • Jump in to help with whiskey tasting setups, private events, and service resets.
  • Follow all health and safety codes with military precision.
  • Be the extra set of eyes and hands the bar team didn’t know they needed—but can’t live without.

Skills

  • 1+ year experience in high-volume or upscale bar/restaurant preferred.
  • Hustle-first mentality and obsessive attention to detail.
  • Physically fit — able to lift 50 lbs and move quickly in tight spaces.
  • Respectful communication style and calm presence under pressure.
  • Availability for weekends, late nights, and special events.
  • TABC and Food Handler certifications (or ability to obtain).

Job Settings

  • Primarily evening and weekend shifts.
  • Must be available for holidays, whiskey events, and private functions.
