Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented System Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our IT infrastructure and systems architecture. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and scalability across our server environments, cloud platforms, and internal networks. You will collaborate closely with software developers, DevOps teams, and IT support to optimize system performance and build reliable operational workflows.

Responsibilities

  • System Architecture & Deployment: Infrastructure installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of enterprise systems, servers, and cloud resources.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Proactively monitor system performance, resource utilization, and operational stability to prevent downtime and optimize system response times.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce system security controls, access permissions, patch management, and automated backup/disaster recovery protocols.
  • Integration & Automation: Develop and maintain operational scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate manual IT tasks and streamline server deployment.
  • Troubleshooting & Escalation: Provide advanced Tier 2/3 technical support, diagnosing hardware, software, and network failures to resolution.
  • Documentation & Asset Management: Maintain thorough technical documentation for system architecture, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and inventory configurations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Operating Systems: Deep expertise with Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows Server environments.
  • Cloud & Virtualization: Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Networking Fundamentals: Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and routing protocols).
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for system automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to articulate technical issues and solutions clearly to cross-functional teams.
  • Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field preferred); 2–4+ years of experience in systems administration or engineering.
