JOB SUMMARY
Fulfill the daily operations of The Lobby Bar, which include guest service, table service and side work. Follow the expectations of The Brownwood Hotel & Spa, a luxury AAA Four Diamond property. Create a teamwork environment in The Lobby Bar and produce quality service to each guest. This position provides day-to-day responsibilities for the operations of the restaurant, manages controllable expenses, manages daily execution of the menu, executes weekly schedules in coordination of the occupancy levels. Follows direction of the Director of Food and Beverage while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Pay: $9.98

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
  • Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
  • Plan and present bar menu
  • Check customers’ identification and confirm they meet the legal drinking age
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Maintain daily set up and/or breakdown of The Lobby Bar by following daily checklists
  • Know each menu item and its ingredients
  • Be aware of events in the area. Be able to give suggestions to our guests
  • Follow and maintain a high level of quality and use professional language
  • Strives to exceed guest satisfaction and looks for ways to provide the best possible service
  • Understands all facets of job responsibilities and displays the skills necessary to complete tasks
  • Complete daily cleaning duties and side work tasks, takes pride in their work
  • Reports to work on time and correctly follow the department attendance policy
  • Participates in department meetings and communicates freely expressing ideas, opinions or views. Communicates with management and other staff members
  • Displays a positive courteous and polite attitude, works well with others
  • Takes pride in their appearance and reports to work in complete uniform, wearing the proper shoes and socks professionally dressed and neatly groomed
  • Displays a sense of urgency and the ability to resolve guest concerns or department issues on their own
  • Utilize time well and is productive throughout the entire shift while meeting department standards
  • Looks for ways to save money by reducing waste and controlling expenses.; generate more revenues by offering ideas and suggestive selling to the guest whenever possible
  • Keeps work area neat and clean. Can be found picking up trash in public and back of the house areas of the Hotel.
  • Follow the safety standards of our hotel
  • Associate to attend TIPS training and properly card guests who appear under 40 years of age.
  • Inspects daily execution of opening and closing side work of team and ensures all materials and equipment are maintained and properly stocked.
  • Works with BOH to make sure buffet presentation and quality are always in line with standards.
  • Conducts service audits with staff monthly to ensure standards of service are being met by all associates.
  • Ensure all daily cleanliness projects for all departments are clearly defined, executed and inspected.
  • Ensure proper and thorough daily maintenance to keep the restaurant running at optimal levels and to prevent the need for “catastrophic” repairs and or injury.
  • Understand all restaurant technology and operation systems and manage issues accordingly.
  • Ensure that the restaurant meets all local, state, and government fire and health codes etc.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Resume and proven working experience as a bartender
  • Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
  • Computer literacy

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to stand and walk
  • Required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects
  • Frequently reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly required to talk or hear; taste or smell
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
