Holston Clerk
We are looking for an engaging Holston Clerk to join the team and create a welcoming, professional, and clean environment for our guests. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing amazing guest service and brings a warm and positive attitude to the department. The Holston team engages with guests and staff throughout their shift, which requires the ability to provide direction as well as attentive, caring guest service. The clerk is responsible for a variety of tasks that help support the Holston Cafe workflow by working with and supporting the retail team. Also plays a key role in engaging with our guests and enriching the guest’s experience. Ideal candidates have been top performers in their previous roles and are excited to help make a place like Wildwood even more special and memorable for our guests.
Essential functions/Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in training staff on POS, cash handling, espresso machine use and maintenance, stocking, rotating product, merchandising, receiving merchandise, cleaning, daily duties, and guest interactions
  • Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
  • Preparing and serving beverages such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea and other specialty drinks
  • Preparing and serving food items such as soups, sandwiches and pastries
  • Answering customers’ questions about menu choices
  • Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
  • Taking payment from customers and making change, effective cash handling
  • Tracking and ordering inventory for cafe and beverage supplies, such as coffee beans, milk, napkins and cups
  • Maintaining espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines and other equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
  • Keeping the work area clean, sanitary and organized
  • Responding to and resolving customer concerns or complaints
  • Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
  • Attracting new customers and refining the menu
  • Create a positive and productive work environment
  • Create forms of communication that encourage teamwork and accountability.
  • Assist with other resort needs as may arise from time to time

Competencies/Required Skills and Abilities

  • Prior experience preferred
  • TN Food Handlers Certification required
  • Organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to follow instructions accurately
  • Able to smile and provide warm, heartfelt hospitality to guests
  • Able to answer guest questions and give appropriate guidance
  • Able to meet consistent attendance requirements and comply with schedules/breaks
  • Computer proficiency or ability to learn required programs

Work environment/physical demands

  • Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs
  • Ability to stand and move continuously
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum
  • Stocking, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning
  • Working with required chemicals
  • Shifts of up to 8 hours per day, plus periodic additional overtime hours

  • Compensation based on experience
