What You’ll Do:

  • **Food Preparation:**Line cooks prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring, as well as preparing sauces and marinades. They cook various dishes, including meats, vegetables, and other menu items, using different cooking methods like grilling, frying, baking, and steaming.
  • Maintaining Standards: Line cooks ensure food quality and presentation meet the restaurant's standards. They follow recipes and portion controls, ensuring consistency in every dish.
  • **Station Management:**They are responsible for setting up their assigned station with necessary supplies and ingredients. This includes stocking items, organizing tools, and ensuring a clean and efficient workspace.
  • **Sanitation and Safety:**Line cooks adhere to sanitation regulations and safety standards, maintaining a clean work area, properly handling food, and following hygiene protocols. They are also responsible for proper food storage and inventory management.
  • **Collaboration:**Line cooks work as part of a team, collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service, especially during busy periods.
  • **Following Instructions:**They receive instructions from the head chef or sous chef regarding menu items, preparation methods, and any special requests.
  • **Inventory Management:**They may assist with inventory checks and food storage logs, ensuring adequate supplies and minimizing waste
