Position Overview:

As a Host/Food Runner, you will be the first and last point of contact for guests, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience. You'll be responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing the flow of the dining room, and ensuring that food is delivered quickly and efficiently. Your multitasking abilities will help create a smooth and enjoyable experience for both customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Hosting:**Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor upon arrival.
    Manage reservations and waitlists, ensuring efficient seating during peak hours.
    Escort guests to their tables, present menus, and provide them with any relevant information about the restaurant.
    Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide information about the menu, hours, and specials.
    Maintain a clean and organized host stand area.
  • **Food Running:**Deliver food and beverages to tables promptly and accurately, ensuring correct orders and presentation.
    Assist servers in ensuring that each table’s needs are met and that food is delivered in a timely manner.
    Ensure the dining area remains clean and organized by clearing tables and assisting with resetting for the next guests.
    Work closely with the kitchen and wait staff to ensure smooth service.
  • **Customer Service:**Provide guests with a positive first impression of the restaurant.
    Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, ensuring satisfaction.
    Monitor guest dining experience, assisting where necessary to ensure comfort and satisfaction.
  • **Team Collaboration:**Work closely with other team members, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff, to ensure a smooth flow of service.
    Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to manage seating and dining room efficiency.
    Support the team during busy periods to keep the operation running smoothly.

Requirements:

  • 1 year experience in a hosting, food running, or customer service role preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and calm during busy or high-pressure times.
  • Strong teamwork mentality and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift items weighing up to [weight, e.g., 25 lbs].
  • Positive attitude, punctuality, and a commitment to providing excellent service.
  • Flexibility with schedule availability (nights, weekends, and holidays).
