Job Overview

A barista team leader able and willing to take on the responsiblity for preparing and serving a variety of coffee, espresso, tea, and other beverages and training others while providing exceptional customer service. This role may potentially also make mocktails and alcoholic cocktails. A positive personality is essential in this customer facing position, willing to bring happiness to all types of guests thru pur beverages, while able to manage the entire customer experience from greeting to payment
Responsibilities

  • Beverage Preparation: Crafting espresso-based drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos), brewing drip coffee, and preparing teas or cold drinks according to specific recipes.
  • Customer Service: Greeting guests warmly, explaining menu offerings, answering questions about ingredients, and making personalized recommendations.
  • Order Management: Accurately taking orders, operating Point of Sale (POS) systems, and processing cash and credit card payments.
  • Food Service: Preparing and serving light food items such as pastries, sandwiches, muffins, and cookies.
  • Facility Maintenance: Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment (espresso machines, grinders), and seating areas to meet health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Control: Monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, and supplies; restocking as needed and reporting low inventory to management.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and cleaning espresso machines, grinders, and other brewing equipment.
  • Customer Excellence: Ability to remain calm and friendly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with colleagues and engaging with a diverse range of customers.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in following recipes, creating latte art, and remembering the preferences of regular customers,
  • Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand for long periods (often 6+ hours) and lift items like milk crates or coffee bags (up to 35–50 lbs).
  • Education: 2 year previous experience is preferred.
  • Shifts: flexible hours, must be willing to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
