About the Role
The Host is one of the most important roles in the restaurant.
You control:
- The first impression
- The flow of the dining room
- The pace of service
This is an entry point into front-of-house growth, with a clear path to Server and expanded responsibility for those who perform.
Why This Role Matters
Within the first 60 seconds, guests decide how they feel about the restaurant.
Your job is to ensure:
- Every guest feels welcomed and taken care of immediately
- The dining room runs smoothly and efficiently
- The team is supported with strong communication and awareness
This role directly impacts service quality, speed, and guest satisfaction.

2. Controlled Dining Room Flow
- Smart, strategic seating (no server overload, no dead sections)
- Accurate wait times and table tracking
- Smooth coordination with servers and managers
3. Awareness & Team Support
- Waters, menus, and table setups happen quickly
- You anticipate needs before being asked
- You stay composed and effective during busy shifts
4. Clean, Organized Environment
- Host stand and entry are always clean and presentable
- Waiting area is managed and orderly
- You maintain a professional appearance and presence

- Greet every guest immediately and warmly
- Set a positive, professional tone
- Answer questions and guide guests confidently
Floor Flow & Coordination
- Manage seating rotation and pacing
- Communicate clearly with servers and management
- Maintain accurate awareness of table status
Team Support
- Assist with waters, resets, and light floor support
- Help maintain cleanliness and readiness
- Stay proactive and solution-oriented
Growth Path (Important)
This role is designed to develop into higher positions.
Step 1: Host
- Master greeting, flow, and communication
Step 2: Host – Utility (Cross-Trained)
- Beverage station support
- Food running and sizzling plate prep
- Increased responsibility and hourly pay
Step 3: Server (Earned, Not Automatic)

Pay & Schedule
- Starting pay: $12/hour
- Pay increases with cross-training and added responsibility
- Part-time and full-time available
- Nights and weekends preferred
