BARISTA POSITION
Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available
Hours: 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM (varying shifts)
POSITION OVERVIEW
We're seeking passionate and skilled Baristas to join our coffee shop team. The ideal candidate will combine excellent coffee-making expertise with outstanding customer service skills to create an exceptional experience for our guests.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Coffee Service & Preparation:
• Craft high-quality espresso-based beverages including lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty drinks
• Maintain consistent drink quality following established recipes and standards
• Operate and maintain professional coffee equipment
• Monitor coffee bean freshness and grinder calibration
• Prepare drip coffee, pour-overs, and cold brew
• Maintain knowledge of current coffee offerings and seasonal specials
Customer Service:
• Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable, friendly service
• Take orders accurately and efficiently
• Handle customer questions about menu items, brewing methods, and coffee origins
• Process payments and operate POS system
• Maintain clean, organized customer areas
• Handle customer concerns professionally and promptly
Operations & Maintenance:
• Execute opening and closing procedures
• Clean and maintain equipment throughout shift
• Stock cups, lids, sleeves, and other supplies
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, dining room, and restrooms
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Complete daily cleaning checklists

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Availability for early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Excellent communication abilities
• Basic math skills for cash handling
• Food Handler's Certificate (or willing to obtain)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1+ year customer service experience
• Previous barista experience
• Knowledge of specialty coffee industry
• Experience with La Marzocco or similar espresso machines
• Latte art skills
• POS system experience
• Coffee certification or formal training
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Standing/walking for entire shift
• Repeated lifting and carrying (up to 30 lbs)
• Frequent bending and reaching
• Manual dexterity for operating equipment
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
• Opening availability (5:30 AM start time)
• Weekend and holiday availability
• Flexible scheduling within operating hours

• Minimum 3 shifts per week
