Position: Restaurant Hostess/Host

Role Summary: We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-service-oriented individual to join our team as a Restaurant Hostess/Host. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience and ensuring their needs are met from the moment they step through our doors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Greet guests as they enter and offer them a warm welcome to Joselito's.
  2. Take and manage reservations using Open Table, ensuring efficient seating and maximizing table occupancy.
  3. Provide guests with wait times, and manage any waiting lists.
  4. Coordinate with the service staff to ensure smooth transitions from the waiting area to the dining tables.
  5. Keep track of the tables that are available or currently being cleaned.
  6. Ensure the entrance, waiting area, and hostess stand are kept neat, clean, and presentable at all times.
  7. Assist with answering phones, take-out orders, and providing general information to callers.
  8. Handle guest complaints professionally and ensure they are resolved quickly.
  9. Maintain a deep knowledge of the menu, daily specials, and bar offerings to provide recommendations or answer guest inquiries.
  10. Collaborate closely with all team members to ensure a seamless and memorable experience for our guests.
    Qualifications and Requirements:
  11. Previous experience in a host/hostess role or in customer service is preferred, but not mandatory.
  12. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  13. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  14. Basic knowledge of reservation software will be an advantage, but training will be provided.
  15. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  16. A passion for Mexican cuisine and culture is a plus!
