Job description
We are a fast-paced, growing, Hospitality & Catering Company looking for a Chef to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our customers. Chef responsibilities include assisting Executive Chef in the oversight of the culinary team, facilitating kitchen production, & preparing high-quality dishes. Ideal candidates should be comfortable working in fast-paced environments, is a team player, and is looking to grow in this growing company!
Responsibilities

  • Work with Chef Consultant to review Banquet Event Orders to create prep/production lists for kitchen work flow
  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
  • Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients; prepare recipes to specifications indicated
  • Supervise Prep Cooks & assist as needed
  • Facilitate preparation for off-site catered events (food, equipment, staff)
  • Prepare food in a timely manner to meet deadlines indicated on BEO
  • Ensure appealing meal presentation
  • Delegate tasks as needed to other culinary team members
  • Monitor food stock & work with Chef Consultant to place orders
  • Monitor & facilitate inventory of paper goods & other culinary equipment
  • Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
  • Assist in hiring & training of culinary team members

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
  • Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
  • Excellent time management abilities
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experienced preferred
  • Serv Safe certified
