Job Overview

Sweet Bean is a new Taiwanese cafe in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago situated next to the Roosevelt CTA Station. We are a fast casual restaurant focused on serving customers fresh, simple, high quality foods and beverages in a welcoming environment. Our menu includes dumplings, noodles, asian pastries, coffee, fruit teas, and more!
We are looking for reliable and experienced baristas who want to contribute to a friendly & relaxed ambiance, with a knowledgeable, yet unpretentious, approach to coffee, and truly want to take their time and put care & intention into their craft.
We love being involved with the community and building relationships with our regulars!

We’ll teach you everything you need to know to be successful in this role. For those with a lot of experience under your belt, we are also looking for shift leads and program managers, or those who would be willing to work up to those roles. If you love coffee and tea, we’d love to hear from you!
Compensation is hourly, starting wage is based on your experience with specialty coffee and leadership.

Qualifications:
-Minimum 1 year barista experience, knowledge of coffee and teas a must!
-Able to pour latte art is not required - but preferred.
-Able to lift 40+ lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
-Great at communicating with coworkers and customers, & problem solving!
