Job Description: Restaurant Employee (Thai and Sushi Restaurant)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and dedicated Restaurant Employee to join our team at our Thai and Sushi restaurant. As a Restaurant Employee, you will play a crucial role in assisting various aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. Your ability to adapt to different tasks and work collaboratively with the team will be essential in maintaining the high standards of our restaurant.
*Pre-opening employee needed to assist with general restaurant duties prior to September opening. Part time hours.
Responsibilities:

  1. Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival, providing them with menus and assisting in seating arrangements.
  2. Take and accurately record food and beverage orders from customers and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff promptly.
  3. Assist with food preparation tasks, such as assembling sushi ingredients, garnishing dishes, or plating Thai cuisine.
  4. Deliver food and beverages to tables efficiently, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.
  5. Offer menu recommendations and provide detailed information about Thai and sushi dishes to guests.
  6. Monitor guest needs during their meals, ensuring they have everything they need and addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
  7. Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, adhering to legal age restrictions and maintaining awareness of guests' alcohol consumption.
  8. Clear and reset tables efficiently, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
  9. Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleaning duties during peak operating hours.
  10. Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy periods.
  11. Restock supplies, including cutlery, napkins, and condiments, to ensure availability during service hours.
  12. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, including the dining area, restrooms, and outdoor spaces.
  13. Process guest payments accurately, handling cash, credit card, and digital transactions following the restaurant's procedures.
  14. Assist with receiving deliveries and storing items in designated areas.
  15. Follow food safety and sanitation standards to ensure the health and safety of guests and colleagues.
  16. Contribute to a positive and cooperative team environment, supporting other staff members as needed.
  17. Report any guest complaints or issues to the restaurant management promptly.
  18. Stay updated on the restaurant's menu, promotions, and events to provide accurate information to guests.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in the restaurant industry or customer service role is preferred but not required.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and team members.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  4. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 pounds).
  5. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the restaurant's operating hours.
  6. Positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  7. Knowledge of Thai and/or sushi cuisine is an advantage but can be acquired on the job.
