At Wildwood Resort and Marina the Event Server assists the Group & Event Managers with the resort's on-site events. The resort hosts about 10 weddings each year for 50-100 guests, as well as hosting reunions and other specialty events. The resort also has a thriving corporate retreat business, focused on events of 10-50 people.
The right person for this role has event experience and enjoys assisting in creating customized experiences and events. For the right creative, energized, and nature loving person this is a dream job.

Ideal qualifications include:
- Some event serving or bartending experience
- Excellent written, verbal and computer skills
- Wedding or similar high-end event experience
- Hospitality or related experience
- Independent thinker with great initiative, but comfortable working within a defined framework
- Servsafe and ABC certification, can be obtained after employment

Responsibilities
DAY OF EVENT COORDINATION
For weddings and other groups:
- Working with department managers to ensure good pre-communication leading up to events
- Being present to work with groups real-time to ensure their needs are met and to support any in-the-moment issues that arise
- Ensuring accurate billing via POS system.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver and serve food and beverages at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Event Lead, Wedding & Event Manager, and or Group Sales Director
- Set up tables, decorations, and buffet stations with food, beverages, and service items as per standards.
- Serve food and beverages to guests with professionalism and friendliness.
- Maintain a clean and organized event area during and after the function, ensuring everything is left neat and tidy.
- Return leftover food, beverages, and equipment to the designated area promptly after the event.
- Stock, clean, and maintain the event facility and equipment.
- Washing event dishes and other assigned side work
- Ensure guests receive excellent and courteous service throughout the event.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu and products available.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures consistently.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the event team.
- Set-up, tend, and breakdown banquet bars, as assigned, according to standard policies and procedures.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner to ensure efficient service
- Communicate professionally with all departments, including management, and be a role model of professionalism
- When finding unsafe conditions and maintenance concerns, address them immediately
Work environment and Physical demands
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions
- Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs
- Ability to stand and move continuously
- Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum
- Working with required cleaning products
- Shifts of up to 8 hours per day, plus periodic additional overtime hours
Details
- Hourly non tipped position
- Compensation based on experience
- Hours variable, including nights and weekends and holidays, as well as situational/crisis availability
- Position beginning in March
