Job Summary:
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and other items through manual and machine cleaning methods. This role also ensures the kitchen and work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
The Dishwasher will also assist with basic kitchen duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashing equipment or by hand as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dishwashing areas, including floors, counters, and equipment.
- Sort and stack clean dishes, and ensure they are stored properly.
- Remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
- Maintain and organize dishwashing supplies, ensuring proper levels of detergents, sanitizers, and other chemicals.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
- Assist kitchen staff as needed, including food preparation and other tasks as assigned.
- Monitor the operation of the dishwashing machine, reporting any maintenance or performance issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure that all cleaning duties are completed according to established protocols and schedules.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with coworkers.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in a hot and humid environment.
Work Environment:
- The role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods.
- Work in a kitchen environment where there may be exposure to hot surfaces, steam, and cleaning chemicals.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time, with varying shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
